We have “Edible Vancouver Island” to talk with us about their new with quarterly publication and online resource, committed to celebrating and promoting the local food and drink culture of Vancouver Island. Dawn Postnikoff (Publisher / Editor) and Danika McDowell (Creative Director) join us to discuss their new project. 

A growing trend in the hospitality industry are pop-up restaurants or dinners. Darren and Jonathan examine some of their own experiences and adventures in this field. Our hope is to encourage you to get out and find some of these amazing meals that are in produced by so many talanted chefs.

Finally after a long wait: Flavour - The North Vancouver Island Picnic! We were lucky to have Darren walk the grounds of Flavour while recording interviews with many exibitors and guest to find out who they were, what they brought and why they were there. Please enjoy, we sure did.

#100 – We did it! We hit our first major milestone with episode 100. Passing this threshold would have felt off if we had anyone other than Mr. Blayne Prowse as our guest. There would not have been an episode100 without him. There would not have been an episode 1 without him!

Tonight we sit down with Susan and Jeff Vandermolen of Shake the Tree - a consultancy that grew out of their sale of their major contribution to the Comox Valley food culture: Beaufort Winery. Tonight they regale us with the tale of how they traded in their corporate day jobs to pursue a career in their favourite hobby - winemaking! We get to learn a little bit about the process, the history, and exactly what happens next, now that the winery has sold. And of course, it wouldn't have felt right if we didn't at least a couple of bottles of wine to sample during the course of the interview...

 Today, we got to sit down with Layne and Brenda of 40 Knots Winery. We had a wonderful time discussing not just their wine making, but what lead them down the road to wine making as a career. But beyond that, we talked about their impressive community involvement - the 40 knots social calendar is downright exhausting! And as you know, we love getting a chance to speak with community minded businesses!
